Malbec, family & friends

Have you ever tasted a perfectly grilled steak followed by a perfectly paired wine? That would be Malbec. Recognized around the world as Argentina's 'signature wine', Malbec originated in France with much less popularity. Mostly due to the climate in the French wine country and not the grape. After a French pioneer - followed by Italian and Spanish explorers - brought a variety of these vines with them to Argentina starting in the mid 19th century, they quickly discovered the dry plains of Mendoza were the perfect environment for these ubiquitous vines to thrive.
Fast forward to present day, Argentina is the largest producer of Malbec in the world, with 97.574,91 acres of vineyards planted across the country, followed by France, Italy, Spain, South Africa, New Zealand and the USA.

Argentine producers have grown Malbec extensively in every wine region of the country. Today, opulent, vigorous Malbecs may be found all along the Andes mountain range, from Salta to Patagonia. If you have never had a glass, it’s a perfect time to try it.
Your glass will gleam a dark ruby red color boasting with rich and intense aromas of fresh berries and plums along with earthier scents. The flavor is full, bold and spicy, but carrying very smooth tannins.  Subtle coffee and chocolate tones can often be found as well.
